Step 1

Complete the Request for Public Information Form.

To obtain information about your rights and the procedures for accessing governmental records, you may find useful information on the Texas Attorney General’s website.

Step 2

Per Government Code § 552.221 (d), SH130 MMD will respond to your request within 10 business days after the date of receipt. If SH130 MMD cannot produce the information within 10 business days, the office will certify the fact in writing and set a date within a reasonable timeframe when the information will be available.

Under certain circumstances SH130 MMD may need to obtain an open records letter ruling from the Office of the Attorney General, which can take up to 45 business days. That process is set out at Government Code section § 552.301.
